Cause

The real truth about alcoholism would probably surprise most people.  Pretty much everyone believes that alcoholics have some sort of mental problem.  To say something entirely different seems unimaginable.  But this is the hard fact that I learned on my own.

For many years I struggled with what I thought was a disease.  I was told that I would need treatment for my mental problem and that this would go on for the rest of my life.  This is something I could not want to accept.  It made no sense to me that it was impossible to solve the problem.  I’m glad I searched out for other alternatives because I learned what the true cause of alcoholism is.

I’m not saying that there are no psychological factors that affect someone’s drinking.  I’m also not saying that AA cannot help people.  What I am saying is that I have done an extreme amount of research and found a remedy that works for me and is basically permanent.  My goal is to communicate to this natural cure to you as simply as possible so that you can do exactly what I did to get sober and stay sober.

Research Proves What the Cause Is

Several doctors, scientists, and other people have done a wide range of research on the subject of alcoholism, especially what causes it.  These studies go back as far as the early 1950’s.  What was discovered and proven is that alcoholism is caused by an overwhelming physical craving for sugar, for lack of a better word.  This type of craving is most often found in people suffering from a condition called hypoglycemia.  To reverse the effects of this condition, a person needs to abstain from consuming sugars and highly-processed simple carbohydrates.  They must also re-nourish themselves to correct the physical damage that has been done to the body and brain chemistry.

Hypoglycemia is the term used for unusually low blood sugar (or glucose) normally due to an overabundance of insulin.  This is a direct result of a poor diet – specifically a diet high in manufactured or processed sugar.  The hypoglycemic person often eats large amounts of sugar and simple carbohydrates daily and develops a pattern of constantly craving these sugars.  In people predisposed to it, this causes an extreme craving for alcohol.  This is because alcohol enters the bloodstream and is converted to sugar (blood glucose) much faster than ordinary table sugar.  One beer equals 10 teaspoons of sugar, but the effect is many times greater making it harder to stop.

Why Choose Alcohol?

The reason an alcoholic turns to alcohol instead of a doughnut is because they have a predisposition.  Instead of just being a sugar addict, they become an alcoholic because they use alcohol to quench the cravings for sugar.

This is a key factor as to why you drink alcohol to excess.  You might have some grave emotional disorder that is making things more difficult, but for now we’re going to focus on the physical addiction to alcohol.

I know this all sounds too simple to be true, but it is.  I wish I had known these things many years ago when I first tried to stop drinking.  But like everyone else, I bought into the concept that I was “powerless” and that I had a disease.  I also was told that I would have to attend support groups for the rest of my life.

The good news for you is that you have found this website and the truth about alcoholism.  You are not powerless.  You can change your metabolism and certain things about your life very easily to eliminate the problem.
